I don't know about you, but when summer rolls around, I'm all for bronzed skin and radiant complexion. As much as I like to play with makeup in general, when the warm weather kicks in, I like to streamline, to simplify my beauty routine with the help of some key multitasking products. Since we are now celebrating the first few days of summer, I thought I'd share my six seasonal beauty essentials, which includes old as well as recent favourites.
Bioderma Photoderm Moisturising Tanning Spray
They say fake it till you make it, which can certainly be relevant for self-tanning considering how dangerous is the sun for our health. Unlike some sunless tanners that create dreadful orange marks, this tanning spray is a joy to use. Not only does it give the most natural sun-kissed glow, but it also dries up in only a few seconds.
Guerlain Terracotta Bronzing Powder
I have had one of these finely milled bronzers in my cosmetic bag for years. You just can't go wrong with these matte powders offered in a wide selection of shades. It gives such a healthy and luminous glow, and it's perfect to enhance tanned skin. To follow the advice of Maxime Poulin, Guerlain's International Beauty Artist (featured here), I sweep the bronzer under my cheekbones, along my hairline, and below the jawline. The result is always natural, never shimmery nor streaky.
Marcelle CC Cream Complete Correction
I have been a fan of Marcelle's iconic BB Cream for a while, but I just recently discovered this CC Cream with SPF 35. This medium coverage tinted moisturizer evens out the complexion while offering a naturally radiant glow. Its lightweight formula is easy to apply either with your hands or a beautyblender for a more precise application, plus it won't melt off your face on muy caliente days.
Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector in Shade 10 Pink
Coral is my go-to lip colour for summer; that's why I was so pleased when I saw the latest addition to the Clarins Natural Lip Perfector family. I was already a massive fan of the gel-like formula mainly because it's quite creamy and hydrating. This lipgloss is not too pink, not too orange; it imparts the perfect shade of coral with a subtle sheen that's not at all sticky. Plus, it's so easy to apply that you won't even need a mirror.
Nuxe huile prodigieuse
Summer after summer I rely on this delightfully perfumed gem to pamper my skin and my hair. This sensual dry oil (featured in my French Pharmacie Skincare Favs) is one mighty multitasker that can be used as a body moisturizer, as a hand and foot lotion, as an intensive hair treatment, and to tame fly-aways. I even apply a few drops to highlight my cheeks and brows before heading out at night. The cost of the bottle ($45) can appear a tad extravagant at first, but this multi-purpose oil will last you forever since you only need a few drops.
