Soaked in Luxury, InWear's Edgier Sister

Apr 30, 2015

The Danish brand InWear is beloved by every stylish Montrealer working in the corporate world. It's therefore not surprising that the company recently chose Montreal's Les Cours Mont-Royal as the location of its Canadian flagship. To me, InWear has always been an essential shopping destination for sharp, elegant and modern workwear. It's the place to find a polished kick-ass suit or a versatile dress that will easily take you from the boardroom to a client dinner.

At the official opening, I discovered InWear's sister label beautifully named Soaked in Luxury. I'd say that InWear is a sophisticated weekday wardrobe were as Soaked In Luxury is more about clothing for laid-back urban adventures. You can expect the same exquisite tailoring and feminine silhouettes but with two main differences: edgier looks with plenty of alluring prints! Here are some of my favourite pieces from their spring collection...

Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse Black Edition

Apr 28, 2015

If you love Nuxe's Huile Prodigieuse (previously featured on my French Pharmacie Skincare Favs) as much as I do, you'll be pleased to know that the multitasking oil is getting more sophisticated this spring. Indeed, the French skincare brand will be releasing a black lacquered limited-edition bottle of its much celebrated oil this season. Made with a blend of 6 precious vegetable oils and rich in vitamin E, the mythic formula has a delicious citrusy fragrance. I love to use this oil year-round; it's smells beautifully, sinks into the skin very easily while leaving a silky soft finish. I sometimes spray it on my hair and leave it all night as a special treatment. It gives me nourished and shiny hair after I wash them in the morning. Divine!

Balcony Bliss

Apr 26, 2015

Can’t wait to relax under the sun this summer? But you are city dweller with a teeny tiny balcony? Don't worry because today I'd like to share with you some inspiring ideas to help you decorate your balcony with style. I have also rounded up an assortment of fun outdoor accessories perfect for narrow space.

The following items are from Rona's Outdoor Garden Section. When I first visited their website, I was expecting to see mostly garden furniture for properties with massive outdoor space. I have been pleasantly surprised to discover that they don't only sell lawn mowers, patio heaters and outdoor furniture sets for 8 people. Indeed, they also have quite a nice selection of accessories for small city balconies just like mine.

Bistro Set
Summer wouldn't be complete without barbecues. But how do you fit one on a city balcony? Not only is this one perfect in proportions, but it is so adorable.

Master Touch Charcoal Barbecue
Paloma Stackable Lounge Chair
9.8-ft. Umbrella
Outdoor Folding Chair Blue & Taupe
I know this day bed might not fit on your balcony, but can you just imagine sipping your mojito on it for one second. Ain't dreamy?

3 New Face Mists

Apr 21, 2015

Although I tend to shy away from face mists during the colder months, once April kicks in I like to add these mighty refreshers to my beauty routine. Here are my current favourites and how I tend to use them:

Every day after my morning shower, I like to spray the Eau Thermale by French skincare brand Uriage onto my freshly cleaned face. It's an ultra-fine thermal water mist filled with minerals that's great for soothing any dry or red patch caused by harsh water. I let it sit for a minute or two, then pat it down a bit before applying my morning serum. While I mainly use it in the morning, I also enjoy having this massive bottle around whenever I need a skin pick me up in the middle of the day.
Best thing about it: Its fine relaxing mist.
Eau Thermale by Uriage retails for $21/300ml and can be purchased in various drugstores.

My second pick is borrowed from the boys. It's the Clean Boost Soothing Antioxidant Toner from Jack Black. I have incorporated this gentle face mist as a toner during my nighttime routine. It is loaded with natural ingredients such as aloe vera to help revitalise skin and witch hazel to remove impurities, but it doesn't contain any alcohol, colorant or paraben.
Best thing about it: It's captivating scent.
Clean Boost Soothing Antioxidant Toner by Jack Black retails for $24/177ml and can be purchased at Sephora, Holt Renfrew as well at La Baie Centre-ville.

Since I have combination skin, my t-zone can appear quite shiny after a few hours once the days start to get warmer. I am thrilled to have recently discovered the Mist & Fix from Make Up For Ever, intended to improve make-up's wearability and skin's hydration. With one spritz of this lightweight mist, my make-up now stays put and looks fresh as long as needed. Does this alcohol-free formula stay on for 12 hours has claimed by the company? I couldn't really tell you since I don't usually wear my makeup for that long. But that being said, what an improvement it has made on my appearance.
A word of advice: If you don't want to end up drenched, make sure not to hold the bottle too close to your face because the nozzle hole is rather large compared to similar face mists.
Best thing about it: It adds the most natural and radiant finish to the face.
Mist & Fix by Make Up For Ever retails for $34/4.22 oz and can be purchased at Sephora.

Have you been trying out any new face mist lately? What are your favourite ones?

Seductive Polka Dots

Apr 15, 2015

Do you envy the Californians for having warm weather all year round? I certainly do. But I believe that there are so many things to be enjoyed about our springtime. For instance, I like wearing pretty polka dots tights when it's not warm enough outside to go bare legs. It's chic, playful and so sophisticated. And somehow it reminds me of living in Paris where women utterly embrace their feminine, their seductive side. Here are some of my favourite looks featuring flirty polka dots pantyhose. Which one do you prefer?

A Sophisticated New Look For The Georges Duboeuf's Brouilly

Apr 9, 2015
With Georges Duboeuf & Denis Garreau from Philippe Dandurand Wines
Quebec's best selling Beaujolais, the iconic Georges Duboeuf's Brouilly, has a chic new look. It's at a cocktail event held last week at the offices of Philippe Durand Wines that the new bottle was unveiled.

As I enjoy meeting people passionate about their craft, you can imagine how pleased I was to get introduced to monsieur Duboeuf himself, aka the international reference in the production and promotion of Beaujolais Nouveau. With annual sales of over 30 million bottles around the world, La Maison Georges Duboeuf is undoubtedly one of the world's most admired wine brands. After we had our picture taken, Georges Duboeuf explained that his idea was to revamp the look of the Brouilly Major, which has had the same signature for over 30 years. While the shape of the bottle remains the same, the new label design presents different characters with a vertical band thus elongating its emblematic oval shape.

The same fine taste but with a trendy new look, I bet this Beaujolais will appeal to a brand new generation of epicureans.

The old look and the new one
