Happy 25th Anniversary MARIAGE Québec!

Jun 11, 2014

Last week, I was invited to attend the 25th anniversary of MARIAGE Québec, the sister publication of Wedding Bells. The event took place at one of my favourite venue in Montreal for weddings and corporate events, the prestigious Le Windsor.

The invitation said, "Cocktail, gifts and surprises". Therefore, I was expecting a typical industry event. But we were in for a much bigger treat than what I had anticipated.

One hour into the event, a beautiful smiling bride appeared at the top of the stairs accompanied by the Wagner's Bridal Chorus (aka "Here Comes The Bride" chorus). Like most guests there, I thought we were about to watch a fancy bridal fashion show and discover the latest designer trends for bridal gowns and tuxedos.

Now what had started as a festive cocktail ended up with a BIG surprise; MARIAGE Québec had planned to celebrate a real wedding following the cocktail! Isn't a fabulous idea? You must have seen our faces. Some were in awe while others manage to capture the moment with their phone.

The ceremony was simple, yet so moving and emotional. The bride and groom stood in the middle of the room surrounded by their relatives and close to hundreds of guests who all felt so privileged to be part of such a spectacular event.

It was such a memorable evening.

Here is a fun shot taken at the photo booth, which was strategically located at the entrance of the room. Isn't a great way to add glamour to an event?
