Marie-Antoinette Is Coming To Town!

Mar 31, 2014

Get ready to eat cake, the French queen is coming town!

If you have been fascinated by the epic tale of the frivolous and flamboyant Marie-Antoinette as seen through the eyes of author Antonia Fraser and filmmaker Sofia Coppola, you will be thrilled to know that the French queen is coming to town.

From April 9 to 12, the Houston Ballet will be presenting Marie-Antoinette, a three-act narrative ballet revisiting the life and death of the controversial Austrian princess. Choreographed by Stanton Welch with a sumptuous score by Russian composer Dmitri Shostakovich, this opulent affair will reunite 55 dancers in lavish costumes all designed from historical paintings.

This upcoming productions promises to be a captivating and colourful event. I might just sneak in some macarons in my bag to make this outing even more extravagant and delightful, but please don't tell anyone!
