Safe Haven: A Romantic Thriller Directed by Lasse Hallström
Excited to see the latest Lasse Hallström movie? I am because I have been a fan of the Swedish film director ever since I saw the world-acclaimed The Cider House Rules (1999), Chocolate (2000) and Salmon Fishing in the Yemen (2011). Set to open on Valentine's Day, his latest movie Safe Haven is based on the novel from Nicholas Sparks, the best-selling author behind the hit films The Notebook and Dear John.
Starring Julianne Hough and Josh Duhamel, the film tells the story of a young woman's struggle to love again: "When a mysterious young woman arrives in a small North Carolina town, her reluctance to join the tight knit community raises questions about her past. Slowly, she begins putting down roots, and gains the courage to start a relationship with Alex, a widowed store owner with two young children. But dark secrets intrude on her new life with such terror that she is forced to rediscover the meaning of sacrifice and rely on the power of love." - Alliance Films.
With the release of Safe Haven, eOne is taking the classic love story off-screen by offering one lucky couple the chance to win a surprise Silver Screen Proposal Experience in the winner’s city on Valentine’s Day. All you have to do is visit www.cineplex.com/safehaven and submit your 500-word love story for a chance at winning the $12,000 ring provided by Canadian Rocks. The winning entry will be carefully selected by a panel of Cineplex, Alliance Films, and Weddingbells Magazine executives, and announced in early February.
Good luck and enjoy the movie!
