L'Odyssée de Cartier: An Inspiring Journey

With the overload of insipid images we are subjected to on a daily basis, not a lot of ads tend to capture our imagination nowadays.

But every now and then, something grand, beautiful and magical comes along and brings elegance, class and sensibility to our eyes. This unique moment becomes a real feast for the senses.

This is exactly what Cartier achieved with an extravagant ad recently aired on an American television network to celebrate its 165th anniversary. The ad lasts three and a half minutes and takes us on an adventure around the world from Paris to Moscow and on to China. It cost 4 millions Euros, took 60 people and over two years to be completed. And it is simply breathtaking!

Is this the beginning of a new trend in advertising? I don't think so but wouldn't be great if it was?

Enjoy!

Redken Anti-Snap Extreme

I have very fine hair and I am always on the hunt for new ways to keep them moisturized and luscious. I am particularly fond of leave-in treatments because I like to provide an extra layer of protection to my hair.

So I was very pleased when a dear friend of mine introduced me to Redken Anti-snap a short while ago. This leave-in treatment is part of the Redken Extreme line, which is designed to treat distressed hair. It contains three key ingredients to help repair, fortify and protect the hair: proteins, ceramide and natural lipids.

I have only been using this product a little over three weeks and I am more than pleased with the outcome. I usually use 2-3 pumps on towel-dried hair and I comb through it to distribute the potion evenly on each section. To avoid getting an oily scalp, I apply the leave-in treatment 3 or 4 inches from the roots. Then I blow-dry my hair and it becomes soft, shiny and highly manageable. What I like the most about this product is that I can leave it in my hair without weighing it down. And the smell! The smell is absolutely divine!

It's a bit too soon to tell if it's helping to prevent split ends but I surely enjoy the extra moisture I am already getting from it. A great find!

In honor of this majestic day, I am sharing beautiful pictures of my favorite supplier of macarons in Paris: Ladurée.
