Dear Dior

Sep 14, 2012

If you are fond of costume jewelry and you just can't get enough of the elegant fashion from the 1940's & 1950's, Dior has something in store for you. Well, maybe not for your wallet but most probably for your eyes.

Today, the House of Dior will be presenting its latest fine jewelry collection at the prestigious Biennale des Antiquaires held at the Grand Palais in Paris. Designed by Victoire de Castellane, the new collection is entitled Dear Dior as it is inspired by motifs discovered in the Dior archives.

"In the 1950's, Christian Dior styled couture gowns with costume jewelry that looked realI did just the opposite", said de Castellane. Indeed, she has created costume jewelry effect with precious gems and metal such as yellow and white gold, fire opals, sapphires, yellow diamonds, emeralds and amethysts.

The opulent and ravishingly colorful Dear Dior collection is comprised of ten unique pieces, which includes earrings, bracelets and rings. Each piece bears an extravagant name such as 'Tulle', 'Organza' and 'Broderies' in honor of the lavish Haute Couture creations of Monsieur Dior. To add even more prestige to the collection, Victoire de Castellane has lined the back of each model with a gold lace pattern designed by Dior himself.

Take a look at a few exquisite pieces from the Dear Dior collection:

Aren't you in love? I surely am.
