Farewell Ms. Brown

Aug 14, 2012

Helen Gurley Brown, the legendary editor-in-chief of Cosmopolitan, past away on Sunday at the age of 90. This charismatic 5 foot 4 woman published the bestseller "Sex and the single girl" in 1962 before taking the helm of Cosmo for 30 years where she revolutionized the magazine.

One might not agree with Cosmopolitan's general approach but cannot argue with the fact that she was a trailblazer and icon of female empowerment.

Here are a few of her most famous quotes:

"Good girls go to heaven, bad girls go everywhere".

"Nearly every glamorous, wealthy, successful career woman you might envy started out as some kind of schlepp."

"Never fail to know that if you are doing all the talking, you are boring somebody."

"Marry a decent, good, kind person who will cherish you."
